Project Overview

Deployment of a mobile technical riding squad to complete planned mechanical, electrical and steel repairs while the vessel remained operational and underway.

Operational Challenge

The vessel had a limited port stay and several outstanding repair items that could not be completed without affecting the schedule. Work therefore needed to continue safely during the voyage.

Technical Assessment

Before boarding, the work list, drawings, spare parts, tools and access arrangements were reviewed. Tasks were prioritized according to operational criticality, available isolation windows and voyage conditions.

Detailed Scope of Work

Execution Methodology

The riding squad worked under the vessel’s permit-to-work system and coordinated each isolation with the responsible shipboard officer. Tasks were sequenced around vessel operations. Daily progress, materials used and outstanding items were reported to the vessel and shore management.

HSE Controls

Transfer arrangements, sea-state limitations, onboard induction, PPE, work-at-height and hot-work controls were observed. No task proceeded without vessel authorization and an agreed safe work method.

Quality Assurance and Inspection

Each work item was inspected and signed off after completion. Functional checks and photographs were included in the daily and final reports.

Project Outcome

Multiple repair items were completed during the voyage, reducing the work required at the next port and supporting schedule continuity.
